[MOSELEY PARK] [Dr. KING BERTT] [VIDEO CLIPS]

Iris loves to be creative even though she has never really been given the chance to be. When I was 16 she attended a pottery class at my school where she created the classics that are: Man on a bench, King Kong and Flat Tortoise. Her degree in kneading dough proved invaluable.

Man on a bench has suffered some knocks over the years including once when my first lady had to admit to breaking his head off whilst dusting, then repairing it without me knowing for about a year. She did a good job, not like the geyser who restored his hand and dare I say...cane, in the mid 80's, who used rather over generous portions of Araldite. The only two Iris sculptures that haven't survived are 'Bird on a perch' and 'Old lady with a rabbit on her lap' which I never saw. It had been a present for her life long sidekick and sister-in-law Barb. When I learned of it's existence I knew I had to have it for the set. Imagine my horror only to discover it had been broken and destroyed and Barb hadn't had the heart to say anything, bless her, I love Barb. Fuck knows what happened to the bird.

I hope you've got some Blue/Red 3D glasses handy, this guy leaps out the screen at you! This is Iris's most recent work and lives on top of my monitor.

For maximum effect, view in a darkened room with the red lens over the left eye.

If you like the idea of creating your own 3D images of absolutely anything, then download the easy to use program from the 3D page. It's called Anaglyph maker ver.1.06 in a 419K zip file. In fact why not just get it from here!

Back to the brainwaves.

All of the drawings below were done in the last few years after an ongoing series of mini strokes.Even though Iris can do no wrong in my eyes, I genuinely think her drawings are amazing and that she is unique. They crack me up.

Iris Rose is the lady to whom I owe everything. She has loved me unconditionally since August 16th 1963, that's me at 17 hours old. The picture was taken by her brother, my uncle Peter who sadly died not so long ago. He was a big influence on me inspiring me to become a musician and photographer. Iris was born in Aston, Birmingham UK, May 28th 1933 and with three older brothers and just her mom Laura, her future was pretty well all laid out, washing, cooking, cleaning, you know...tart's work!. After the customary marriage to an unappreciative geyser from Kingstanding, my dad, then the customary 2.4 children, her life was dedicated to us. Life was tough for 'I' but she never complained. It was when we were all older she first showed an urge to be artistic and everything she creates is intended to make you laugh. So there it is...it's her fault that humour is such a big part of my creativity, well, that and the drugs.
